Belton & Wroot Primary Federation Vision

Be bold, be strong, for the Lord your God is with you!

(Joshua 1.9)

Our Vision Statement

Belton and Wroot Primary Federation is proud to be a thriving church school family. Our Federation vision is to provide rich, life-long learning experiences and excellent provision, resulting in a happy confident school community where we all grow, flourish, achieve success, feel safe and genuinely care for each other and the world we live in.

Our vision is rooted in the life and experiences of St Cuthbert. Like our school community, Cuthbert spent much of his life on an island, but looked outwards to build friendships and partnerships. Cuthbert’s life was rooted in the love of God. He understood the importance of trusting God, persevering, serving others and seeking wisdom. Through contemplation and experiencing challenge, Cuthbert developed resilience and flourished as a leader who transformed his world for the better. St Cuthbert was a unifier – through his love, care and faithfulness, he brought hope and continues to bring hope to Christians around the world.

At the Belton & Wroot Federation we use the teachings of Jesus and the life of Cuthbert to guide us. Our commitment towards fostering, nurturing and embedding the Christian values of:

Trust, Perseverance, Wisdom, Love, Hope

provide the golden thread running through our Federation’s ethos and encapsulates all that we do.

We live out the values of Perseverance and Wisdom by learning together

Inspired by the life of St Cuthbert, our Federation vision brings to life the values of Perseverance and Wisdom through learning together. Like Cuthbert, who grew in strength through challenge, reflection and faith, we encourage our community to embrace learning as a shared journey—one that requires determination, resilience and thoughtful understanding. Cuthbert’s willingness to step beyond his island, build relationships and seek deeper wisdom mirrors our commitment to collaboration, curiosity and growth. Through working together, supporting one another and reflecting on our experiences, we develop the perseverance to overcome obstacles and the wisdom to make meaningful choices, enabling every member of our school community to flourish and positively impact the world around them.

We show Love and Hope by raising money for charities and courageous advocacy

Inspired by the teachings of Jesus and the example of St Cuthbert, we demonstrate the values of Love and Hope by actively supporting and raising money for charities. Just as Cuthbert showed compassion, generosity and a deep commitment to serving others, we encourage our school community to look beyond ourselves and respond to the needs of others with kindness and purpose. Through charitable giving and collective action, our children learn that even small acts can bring hope, make a difference and contribute to a more caring and just world. In doing so, we nurture a spirit of empathy, responsibility and unity, helping every child to understand their role in creating positive change.

We learn about Trust through our curriuclum

Guided by the teachings of Jesus and inspired by the life of St Cuthbert, we learn about Trust as a fundamental part of our shared journey. Cuthbert’s life was rooted in a deep trust in God, which gave him the courage to face challenges, build relationships and serve others with humility and faithfulness. Within our Federation, we nurture trust through strong relationships, honesty and mutual respect, creating a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and confident to grow. By learning together, taking risks in our learning and relying on one another, our children develop the confidence to trust themselves, others and the wider world, enabling them to flourish both academically and personally.

We embed our values through daily life and act of worship

At the Belton and Wroot Primary Federation, our Christian values are deeply embedded through the rhythms of daily life and our Acts of Worship. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus and inspired by the example of St Cuthbert, these moments provide opportunities for reflection, prayer and shared understanding, allowing our values of Trust, Perseverance, Wisdom, Love and Hope to come alive. Through collective worship and everyday interactions, we create a culture where values are not only taught but experienced—guiding behaviour, shaping relationships and supporting personal growth. This consistent and meaningful approach ensures that every member of our community is nurtured spiritually, morally and socially, enabling all to grow, flourish and live out our vision in both school and the wider world.

Spirituality

At the Belton and Wroot Primary Federation, our Christian values are deeply embedded through the rhythms of daily life and our Acts of Worship. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus and inspired by the example of St Cuthbert, these moments provide rich opportunities for reflection, prayer and shared understanding, allowing our values of Trust, Perseverance, Wisdom, Love and Hope to come alive. Central to this is our commitment to nurturing spirituality through our vision, using the language of windows, mirrors and doors. We provide windows for children to encounter new ideas, experiences and perspectives; mirrors for reflection on their own beliefs, feelings and identity; and doors that inspire them to respond, act and make a difference in the world. Through collective worship and everyday interactions, we create a culture where values and spirituality are not only taught but deeply experienced—guiding behaviour, shaping relationships and supporting personal growth. This ensures that every member of our community is nurtured spiritually, morally and socially, enabling all to grow, flourish and live out our vision both within school and beyond.

Spirituality is the way in which we combine our thoughts and emotions to reflect, respond to, and seek to give meaning and purpose to the experiences that we encounter in life. Spirituality offers us space to learn, reflect and grow

Through Windows.. We look outwards and learn about things that amaze us and challenge us

Through Mirrors... We look inwards and reflect on our own and others views and beliefs

Through Doors... We step out and respond by putting thoughts and ideas into action and becoming inspiring change makers
